Asking for Self, Female, 26 years old, Karachi

Hello Dr. I know it would sound very illogical and illiterate of me to ask such a question but I have a lot of pressure from my mother in law. I am currently 33 weeks pregnant and my hb level is 9.2. Dr has suggested venofer injections 5 doses as ferrous sulphate is not increasing the levels. I want to ask do these injections affect baby's complexion? Do they make the baby darker? Because my mother in law is not allowing me to have the injections but I am scared that being anemic will harm my baby. Also, please suggest any alternative that can increase the hb without these drips ? Thanks
