Lately when ever I get my blood ESR tested it is always elevated.. What could be the cause..? While mostly other tests are in normal range.. I have IBS (type M) it gets really bad at time at either side.. Kindly need satisfactory answers..

Ok ESR represents inflammation somewhere in body in simple terms and have multiple causes possible for that need detail history examination and then targeted investigation to solve the query .

a) running after a raised ESR is a non-scientific approach
b) asking for any comment on any test or symptom without a compkete medical history, examinatiin and evaluation is pointless, useless and incapable of yielding any meaningful answer.
u hav to go for thorough clinincal examination n detaild hstry so that any other issue hav to be sort out.

Currently I am anemic kind of.. Hb is 9.7.. ESR value is 55.. But in last November my
Hb was 11 but ESR was 53..

its a very non specific thing so you cant tell the cause straightaway.You need to have a checkup with history examination and further workup.
anemia could be one of the cause as is any infection or some other inflammatory process
ESR can be raised in multiples diseases . It is not specific you should worry if you don’t have any problem. For satisfaction you need to get checked by trained physician
In medicine history comes first followed by clinical examination and than investigations. Thus clinical evaluation is nessessory so visit a physician. No short cut in medicine.
