It would be likely due to one of medicines usually given to heart patients. We call it in medical terms ACE inhibitor. You need to list his medications so that we can tell you whether he is on that tablet or not.

Stop zestril 5mg. This might be the reason for cough. Change it to tab Losartan 50mg one tan daily. Cough will go away in few days. Thanks
