Asking For Brother, Male 14, Swabi, KP
My younger brother (13-14 years of age) is facing some strange symptoms. He suddenly starts continuous coughing, has pain in chest and throat and unable to breathe. His color becomes black sometimes. Sometimes his legs, or hand fingers or back becomes stiff and he cannot move. This has been happening now for about 3 years. it disappears for a few months and then come back. There are many triggers that we have noticed. This starts when somebody mentions about jinnat in front of him, or any aamils, and specially when he starts to pray after ablution. When he has no symptoms, he completely feels normal and can do everything a normal kid would do. When we take him to hospital he is feeling the worst. rays, and ECG don't show anything. Last year we did MRls as well and nothing was figured out. According to most aamils it is black magic, or jinnat but we have tried everything we could. I would highly appreciate any experts guidance in the regard.

Thank you so much for your response. The problem is not limited to my brother. Recently my mother and younger sister are also getting strange symptoms. It started when an aamil came to my home and was dealing with my brother, my mother who was in a separate room got out of senses and started screaming. Similar thing happened to my sister as well with extreme pain in the stomach.
My family now firmly believe that this is magic or jinnat and am unable to convince them.
And even they feel better for a few days after an aamil treatment

sir i think this a psychiatric issue and it can sometimes project on other family members, at least get your brother checked from a psychiatrist and when he gets better after treatment then your family will be convinced. rest you can continue with prayers as well but do get proper treatment as well.

Gently and tactfully deny alums as this is not working (you don't have to tell them that their treatment is nit working). Add some sweat snacks and deserts in the dirt of all behav Ng differently and get Psych consult for three of them.

Is he obese or over weight? Do these cyanotic spell occur during sleep as well? When he is alright, give him a tablet of ferrous sulphate OD, and when he is going through spell, make him lie down, put a cold water soaked towel on his forehead till he starts breathing normally. Get a psychiatrist appointment to know whhat and why are his dissatisfactions and how to remove those dislikes and dissatisfaction.

he is not obese or overweight. he is actually the opposite, very weak. and yes some times, the problem does happen during sleep but very rarely. When he gets to know that an alim or aamil is on his way coming to treat him, everything suddenly disappears and he is absolutely feeling well.

Recently the problem is not limited to my brother, my mother and young sister (11-12 years of age) are facing some strange symptoms. Their symptoms started when an aamil was at my home dealing with my brother, my mother who was in another room got out of senses and started very loud screaming and my sister had extreme pain in her stomach. From his childhood he used to have pain in his legs, and we were giving pain killers for passing time since all blood work was clear. At the age of 5, about 9 years ago, his legs got stuck and he was unable to walk for more than a month. the doctors treatments were not helping . then he got good one day suddenly out of nowhere.

chest x ray shows nothing abnormal. When he is feeling well, his activities are just like normal kids, school, madrassa, playing cricket etc. no traumatic event in recent past
