Asking For Self, Female 70, Peshawar
hi My mother aged 70 has a gallstones problems and she usually complaints about abdominal pain , after a month interval, we gave her Pain killer and the pain gets relieved , I have consulted many doctors but they are not recommending operation due to her age , kindly suggest what to do . she also has Early liver chriosis and ILD . I am confused what to do to remove Gall stones or a pain associated with it and she also gets mild fever due to gall stones .
Depending upon the patient systemic condition. pt can be a difficult case for general anaesthesia.
its better to cope up this condition with dietary modification and symptomatic treatment.
for further guidance you can consult me online.
have to examine the patient
Age and CLD liver cirrhosis are not contraindications for surgery.
She can get surgery. I have successfully operated laparoscopically on 2 patients over 100yrs of age. Smallest child I operated laparoscopically was 5 yrs of age. Operation on CLD patients is not a problem either, unless declared unfit for General Anaesthesia. If unfit we can go for open surgery under regional Anaesthesia.
