being able to be fit-free for 2-3 years may qualify you for gradually tapering off your medication, but please keep in touch with your neurologist for deciding when & how to do this

In the beginning we need to diagnose what kind of fits you are having. For this we need a detailed history EEG and MRI. Then we need to assess what is the most suitable medication for you in the light of history and investigations. Once your fits are controlled with medication we would wait for another year or two and then gradually reduce medication making sure that the reduction doesn’t bring back the fits. For any fits that are resistant to medication we would need further input in the light of focus of fits in the EEG corroborated with MRI. Then the neurosurgeon would either excise your epileptic focus or perform incisions to sever some connections, the best kind of surgery is the non invasive laser surgery. So called homeopathic medication is totally useless and can be in fact dangerous because they would advise you just to stop the medication which can result in dangerously uncontrollable fits which can be potentially fatal.
You should see a neurologist or a Psychiatrist in person to discuss this matter.
