Asking For Mother, Female 55, Peshawar
My mother has non-small cell carcinoma for the last 15 years. She has gone through Chemotherapy, Radiation and also surgery but couldn't get well. She got metastasis after few years of her disease. After the surgery, she was not suggested any treatment. So she coughs for the last 15 years. But for the last few days, blood comes when she coughs.
Is this because of her cancer disease or she has been infected with tuberculosis? She doesn't have any other symptoms rather than the blood comes in cough.
Its need to do some scaninig and tests then can we confirm it
Needs following blood test complete blood count, coagulation profile, and CT scan of chest. A simple test before CT scan can be chest x ray. Once above test are done, then can advice further. Thank you

Thank you Drs sb for the replies and suggestions. I will take her to do the suggested medical tests as soon as possible. But I just wanted to know that can anyone having lung cancer be infected with TB disease? So far I know, blood in cough is a common sign of lung cancer.
Let me add that she does not have any other symptoms other than this.

Patient with lung cancer can have TB. If she does not have any other symptoms, it’s good and chances of TB are less likely. However, need investigations to establish the cause of coughing up blood.
