If a patient is vitally stable then yes she needs ERCP or EUS guided biopsy of tumor
It can help us to get the tumor tested for different mutations making the primary oncologist decide regarding targeted therapies apart from chemotherapy.
If spread is in liver or easily approachable , biopsy must be done to confirm diagnosis along with CA 19 -9 . Otherwise it’s your mutual decision along with oncologist.
