Asking For Mother, Female 59, Pakistan
my question is that if all margins come clear of invasive carcinoma in biopsy and bilateral parametria and bilateral adnexa are negative for malignancy, there isn't any history or risk factor, total abdominal hysterectomy is done (biopsy conducted after surgery) p53 is negative, is there still any need of radiotherapy?
Assalamualaikum-wa-rehmatullah-e-wa-barakatuhu
Please be careful while planning adjuvant therapy. Always consult a clinical radiation oncologist for such important decisions. Much depends on type and site of primary, grade, histology, previous stage, initial plan. It's not only the margins that matter.
