Asking for Self, Male, 22 years old, karachi
Assalamu Alaikum... My name is Mehwish Altaf and I am a student at Sukkur IBA University. I am 23 years old. I suspect that I might have spinal cancer or a tumor because I am experiencing all the symptoms. I suffer from severe back pain when I lie down, I have weight loss, burning and pain in my legs, and pain in my thighs. Additionally, I have constant pain and burning in my feet. I have also been dealing with a sciatica-like issue for the past three years, where I experience pain in either my left or right leg, making it difficult for me to walk or sleep due to the severe pain. Additionally, I constantly feel like I have a fever, sometimes I have an appetite and sometimes I don't, and I feel very weak. Could you please guide me on whether it is possible that I have spinal cancer and what tests I should undergo to confirm this? Thank you.

Dear,
Being an Oncologist, I wish/expect and pray that it doesnot turn out to be a spine malignancy at this age. Ameen.
Please seek an Orthopedic, or a spine specialist near you and let him examine you before recommending initial baselines and further an MRI spine contrast of the relevant regions if necessary. If he recommends, you might need additional rheumatology/physician review. Please donot jump to conclusions based on social media/ google platforms that you have cancer. From your symptoms, it can be medical/infective causes clouding your judgement.
Allah ap k haq me behtari farmaye. Ameen.
Best Regards.

Dear Doctor,
Thank you very much for your prayers and advice. I will promptly consult an orthopedic or spine specialist and undergo the necessary examinations as per your instructions. I agree that I should not draw any conclusions myself and should proceed according to the specialist's recommendations.
I have a question for you. I experience constant pain right in the middle of my feet, and I also have severe lower back pain. While the pain in my lower back subsides somewhat after taking painkillers, the pain in my feet persists and remains constant, causing irritation all the time. Can you tell me what might be causing this?
Thank you very much for your guidance.

Dear Mehwish,
Your Workup will be broader if it comes from a spine specialist. By asking this question from Oncologist, you are narrowing down your Workup to malignant diseases. It can be anything from benign to down the list, malignant. It's better if spine Orthopaedic or a Rheumatologist is sought first.
Best regards.
