Did you get a Doppler/duplex ultrasound of your mother's leg. Doppler study needs both arterial and venous.
If ambiguity persists then need to have CT angio of limb with full precaution.
You may be needed to consult a vascular surgeon

Looking upon MRI, It looks like some exiting nerve compression. If you mean by vein compression this, then consultation of spinal surgeon needed.
