Talk to Pediatrician on 1 Month Old Colic Pain And Gulping While Feed

My 1 month old baby boy has gastric problem. He cries with pain most of the time. And feel relax when we lay down him on his tummy. He is on b feeding. Sometimes we give him cow buffalo mix milk. Potty normal 1 or 2 per day. 2nd he has air intake problem while bf or via bottle . He gulp and gasp while feeding.

colic pains are normal with babies of age from 3 weeks to 3 months, no need to worry about it
second cow/buffalo milk is not recommended till 6 months as it contains more protein which is not suitable for the gut and it damages the gut, which also causes pain, therefore, avoid it
3rd when you prepare bottlefeed, give it by cup and spoon method which decreases the air intake
4th use terminology properly, if your child becomes gasping like then immediately it should be taken to hospital ....

Thanks. It seems he gasp because of overflow of milk or he don't breath while feeding. What we should do? Is it a serious issue that we must go to hospital?

before feeding give normal saline drops 1 drop in each nostril 10-15 minutes before feed and try steam inhalation. might it be because of nasal blockade ... if it does not improve then it needs proper evaluation

Looks like nasal stuffiness. As infants breath through nose mainly, any thing which obstructs the nasal passage can cause breathlessness which u r confusing with gasping. Use norsaline drops, 2drops 15 min before feed and raise the head end while feeding. Do give burps following each feed, and keep head end elevation for atleast half an hour following feed. Do belly massage and u can give colic drops twice a day if it doesnt settle. Colic is normal after 2nd week of life till 4-5 months of age.
If still condition not improves and baby gets breathless or develops forehead sweatinf during feed or gets blue, take baby to hospital for proper assessment
This is infantile colic persists up to 6-8 months. Avoid air intake via empty feeder or soothers.Give feed with proper method. If severe colic give Syp bonnisan 1.5ml thrice a day.
