Most fevers associated with runny nose and cough are due to viruses and antibiotics do not help in such cases. It is reassuring that the infant is taking feeds normally. This again makes serious germ caused or bacterial infections unlikely which require antibiotics treatment. You may alternate paracetamol and ibuprofen every 4 hours to keep the fever down. A temperature below 101F does not need to be treated with fever medicines unless the infant is uncomfortable. Cough is a symptom and not a disease. It is a protective phenomenon and should not be suppressed. It helps an infant get rid of phlegm and clear his airways.

if there is persistent fever, this might warrant the use of appropriate antibiotic. get him evaluated physically for detailed prescription. until then, continue regular panadol in correct dose.
