You need to check her cbc and serum ferritin levels frequently and get her under care of a child specialist regularly.Also both parents muat get theirs Hb Electrophoresis done
Beta thalassemia major patients need periodic blood transfusion and treatment for iron overload. Better register with some organizations which are specifically expert for treatment of these patients. Like sundus foundation. They arrange for blood transfusion also.
Unfortunately B thalassemia major Pt, need monthly blood transfusion to maintain their HB, need regular folic acid. Some time to put on hydroxyurea trial. Best way enroll yr baby at thalassemia center for regular follow up . Need regular follow up with hematologist for long term treatment. Definite treatment is bone marrow transplant.
