My 2 years old daughter fished her antibiotic course 10 days back and she is again caught with 102, 103 fever. Previous was no chest infection, throat was also ok, started antibiotic after waiting 5 days for fever to go.
Recurrent febrile episodes are usually viral unless proven otherwise. paracetamol every 4 to 6 hours should suffice. if the baby has signs of infection like a productive cough, diarrhoea with mucus and/or blood, crying while passing urine, severe headache with vomiting, or lethargy/poor activity with unexplained tiredness, then please go to your nearest Pediatrician for a complete evaluation.
