Talk to Pediatrician on Fever, Stool

person-avatar

Asking for Other, Male, 0.10 years old, Karachi

Assalam o alaikum. My son is 10 months old and is teething currently. Yesterday he developed fever and was extremely fussy for which I gave him Dolor and he’s better ever since. Along with the fever, his poop consistency and frequency changed too. He usually poops once a day but since yesterday he’s pooping 4 to 5 times a day. Poop is grainy and has mucus in it. The colour is sometimes yellow, sometimes greenish yellow. He’s active, acting normal, but not eating as such. Usually he eats solids happily but right now he’s mainly depending on formula. Please suggest if the situation is alarming and what should be done? I’ll be grateful.

WAS.
Babies tend to have diarrhea when teething as they put everything in their mouths to sooth the gums. But diarrhea is diarrhea, you need to make sure that he remains well hydrated.

Give him ORS about 3 ounces after each loose stool or as much as he wants.
