My nephew just starts bleeding from the nose out of the blue. Any suggestion to which specialist we can consult or test we can have done? The pediatrician cant find anything.
Age of your nephew? Any other complaint,how often it happens? After how long bleeding stopped? At times during hot and dry weather nose bleeds occur. Keep nose clear of crusts and apply lubricant like petroleum jelly.
Frequently? How often? After nose picking or trauma? Bruises or bleeding from any other area?
If its the first episode then nothing to worry about. Just make sure he doesn't bleed from any other site and there r no petechia or bruises over his body. Sometimes nasal infection or nose picking leads to epistaxis. If the child bleeds from nose, just be relaxed, sit the child in the leaning forward position. Consultation can be made with any ENT specialist if child bleeds again
