A jaundice persisting beyond 2 weeks in a full term baby needs to be investigated. If he is exclusively on breastfeeding this may be so called Breast Milk Jaundice. That diagnosis, however, should be made after excluding all other causes by performing tests. He needs to have following tests done 1. Urine for Reducing Substances. 2. Urinalysis and Urine for Culture and Sensitivity. 3. Blood for G6PD Level. 4. Serum T4 and TSH Levels.
