Hello.
these are iron drops
these are usually given when your doctor observe Iron deficiency.Which can cause decrease hemoglobin (hemoglobin makes red Blood)
they are safe to give to baby when indicated and your baby is not reacting to medicine( lose stools)
black stools is common and normal

there is physiological anemia at 2.5 months old so normally iron supplementation is not given. you can continue breast milk as per usual.

if he is premature or any other condition causing iron deficiency then drops can be given as per need.
