Talk to Pediatrician on Itching Over Scalp
Asking for Other Female 1 , mianwali
my daughter 15months old has itching over scalp behine the ear on nasal ala and abdomen.there is no rash just itch.itch becomes intense usually at night ..i cnslted dr he gave steroids nd antifungal nd said its folliculitis.wd these medicines she get temporary relief
for how long did you use steroids and antifungal medicines?
also itching is associated with a particular time / part of day or it remains for whole day?
Do u consult dermatologist? If no improvement with skin ointments. She might be having liver issue. Plz get Liver function tests. And consult pediatric Gastroenterologist and hepatologist

any allergy history in family or in paternal / maternal side of child? usually these issues are related to allergy
steroids play a great role in solving allergy related issues but they are temporary relief providing stuff
allergy is a life long issue. And management of allergy is to manage the triggering factors.
there are many factors that trigger allergy and they may vary person to person
you have to focus on specific triggering factor for your child. It may be any baby powder that triggers any specific food any clothing etc.
for confirming the diagnosis you need to have few tests.
serum IGE level
CBC
ESR.
these are first line investigations. further workup will be done if needed, after these labs are chased.

in CBC we will have to check eosinophil level. it is related to allergy and levels are raised in allergy related issues. And as adviced by Dr Nagina add LFTs test as well. These will be baseline and will give clear initial picture of your child. After which further management plan can be designed.

since there are no rashes / lesions or scars. Hence first differential is skin allergy related issue / or systemic issues like issues related to liver could be though at this stage.

Its not necessory that all the allergy related issues should present with generalised allergy. These areas of body (scalp / ear / face and neck) etc are the most prone areas for these symptoms hence allergy should be considered as a differential here.

Then here is a clue of allergy history from family. Anti DS DNA antibody test just rule out autoimmune issues. It doesnt rule out allergy related issues. You d0nt have autoimmune disease but allergy should be considered here.
