Asking for Other, Male, 4 years old, Karachi
My son will be 4 in February 2018. Last night he complained about pain in his left ear. We checked his ear with torch light and saw some ear wax and dryness so we gave him one drop of otosporine to clear it. But he continued complaining about the pain and after 3 hours of exhaustion and continuous crying he fell asleep but we can tell that the pain wasn't gone completely. He also has flu and for that limited medications were given. We would like to know the reason behind this episode and also please suggest the best ENT specials in Karachi. JazakAllahoKhair.
Plz give pandol syurp, than consult child specialist not ENT specialist

He may be suffering from ear infection given the "cold" symptoms.
Try Panadol or Brufen syrup for the pain. If remains in pain after 3 days, please get him checked as he probabaly will need antibiotics such as Amoxicillin for 5-7 days.

Please never use ear drops without consulting the ENT doctor. As it can cause permanent hearing loss . Always use calpol for pain and if pain persists then u should get the child checked by ENT doctor.

JazakAllahoKhair. The incident occurred in the middle of the night. We didn't know the exact cause at that time. My son complained about the pain in his left ear and soon after that he started crying and we couldn't understand anything that he was saying between tears and sobbing. Otosporine has a description written on it that states children above two years of age can use it. We gave only one drop just to clear it.

Any suggestions because my son doesn't do well with antibiotics and usually it is what most of the Doctor prescribe.

Unfortunately child specialist will always give u antibiotics. They are not trained to examine the ears . Best choice is ur nearest ENT Doctor.
