Talk to Pediatrician on Newborn Constipation

My nb is 18 days old and she didn't poop for 11 days.. then I took her to Dr . Dr inserted glycerin suppository and asked me to give honey and water.. she pooped yesterday twice and till now no poop.. my question is is it safe to give honey? She is on exclusive breastfeeding

11days constipation is not good for newborn. Please go and check with Pediatrician. Get her thyroid screening too. Honey , water , tea, qahwa are not advisable before 6months of age. Give only mother feed.
please don't visit that doctor again who advised you to give honey to your newborn. you can book appointment for proper history, otherwise plz visit Paediatrician

usually on mother feed if baby is otherwise well with no abdominal distention, can have prolong gap between stools even upto 10days normally but sometimes other way around may pas 2 to 3 times per day....so all is normal....if baby doesn't pass stool for more than 7 days glycerine suppository is safe and can be given....honey is not safe in small babies....one important thing is to keep an eye on urine of baby and shoul have atleast 4 times which will confirm adequate hydration and oral intake.
Don't Give Honey.
