Asking For Other, Female 1, Faisalabad
Dear Doc! My daughter aged 9.5 months only is suffering from fever which ranges between 99-103 F. It happen due to throat Infection (as she was suffering with it since 3 days back). I have consulted physician and he advised Injection CeraPan 500mg ( 3 times a day),Inj Amoxil ( 3 times a day), but last night she suffered with 103F fever. Now She's quite well but I'm fearing about coming night. Should I ask Dr to change its medicine or it is better which is going on. I have also given her specimen for CBC & CRP tests and Xray chest. their results are still pending.
I'm too much worried about it. Kindly suggest me accordingly.
take an appointment with me
continue medicine and monitor temperature after 6 hourly don't be sorry if fever is settled and take checkup with labs to child specialist
at 9.5 months of age it is not possible to have a bacterial throat infection. it's either viral throat infection which will resolve on its own and antibiotics won't work. or it is some other infection. you have already had CBC and crp done. do get a blood and urine culture as well dengue ns1 if fever is less than 5 days. keep giving panadol according to weight every 5 hourly. avoid brufen in case it's dengue.

All Blood reports are in normal range.
We have forgotten the injection of Measles etc of 9 months age and its 15-20 days over.
Should we go for it now after recovering from fever completely?
Moreover, baby has some spots on abdomen, chest and neck . you can say 10-15 in numbers.
They also seems due to inner clothes because we couldn't change her inner cloths due to her illness.
if these are due to Measles than should we worry as there is no fever now are reports are also normal.

dear in measles there is first a phase in which there is fever cough flu and runny eyes and then rash develops that starts from the face behind ears and back of neck. you can post a pic of rash and we can see if it's measles. I would suggest you wait till confirmation of measles for the epi. also baby being sick is no indication to not bathe or change clothes. in fact hygiene should be main priority when child is sick and should be given back every 1 or 2 days otherwise child can get more sick due to germs

Thanks a lot Dear Doctor.
Temperature is settled now since yesterday evening ALHAMDULILLAH.
CBC, TRC all are in normal range. Her mother just remembered that She has forgotten to take her for EPI injection of 9month of age.
Now there are 5 to 6 little dots on his abdomen and neck. We don't know , are these due to clothes rashes (because due to her sickness inner clothes are not changed) or any sign of measles.

if there is History of measles in contact nearby and she is unvaccinated then more likely, but the typical signs of measles include cough eye involvement rash all over the starting behind the ears and slowly involving the whole body plus also mouth ulcers ..please there are also many other viruses that is similar to measles so need proper checkup or examination thanks
