For the cough, ensuring proper hydration and using a warm saline nasal spray can help clear congestion. Gentle chest physiotherapy like tapping/rubbing can be tried too. If fever is present, give paracetamol as directed. Investigate potential irritants like smoking, spices or dust and remove those if possible.

I'd still recommend a video/teleconsultation with a pediatrician for further evaluation if the cough persists more than 1 week beyond an initial viral illness. Some red flag symptoms like poor feeding/activity, respiratory distress may also warrant immediate medical input via teleconsultation.
