Asking For Self, Female, 0 Years old, Islamabad

We are seeing brick coloured stain on our baby girl (5 months) diaper. She is overall active and growing okay. Doc has advised for urine RE test. Attached is the report. The report shows uric acid crystals as positive and wbc as numerous. Does this indicate infection? What should be our next course of action? We also see white discharge, is this a matter of concern? She is on breastfeeding. Her birth weight was 3 and is now 6.8 kgs. Please advise!

Thank you! Doc. I appreciate your time. We are awaiting Urine C/S results and have a appointment scheduled. Any idea about uric acid crystals? Is it too because of infection? I’ve read that this might indicate dehydration? C/S report takes time, anything we need to do in the interim?

crystal are positive in urine infection and dehydration as you have said.
in the mean time you can feed baby time to time as on demand and maintain good hygiene. Antibiotics will start only after C/S reports.

this orange color is due to uric acid crystals which might be due to dehydration so no worries about that. but report is also showing wbcs and leukocyte esterase which indicate infected. kindly consult a paediatrician for proper antibiotic prescription.

Thank you! Doc for looking into this. She’s having a white thick discharge too. Is this normal? We were told by our doc that this could be due to mother hormones passing to baby via breast milk. Normal for baby girls. Or this may also be a bi-production of the infection. We are awaiting Urine culture results and have a appointment scheduled. I’ll appreciate your kind response here.
