AOA, I got my 2.5 yr old Daughter and 9 months old Son tested for Blood CP. Kids are quite active and playful but don't eat anything except milk and snacks so I got them tested. Reports are attached.
Now the Doctor recommended following tests which we took today but awaiting result
S. Calcium Stool RE HB electrophoresis
What can be the cause of High ESR? Son has 20 while Daughter has 18
its due to anemia ...give them iron & multivitamins supplements
its better to have them treated as per advice of primary physician..
You need to work on your children s food intake.Wean the 8 months old properly.Give 2-3 semisolid meals everyday increasing to 5 gradually.Decrease milk intake specialy of the elder one,he doesn’t need more than 500ml daily.Give proper meals having eggs,meat,qeema,rice/roti and fruits.Deworm them.and rest follow your physician advise.He want to find out cause of anemia and is on the right line.’
Kids mainly on milk are deficienct in iron because milk decreases iron absorption, increase iron loss and reduce appetite. Blood Cp suggestive of iron deficiency not thalassemia. Hb electrophoresis, stool RE and S.Calcium all will be normal.
Gradually stop milk of elder kid by slowly increased dilution. Give soft and solid routine diets like whatever cooked in home for rest of members. Stop giving junk foods.
Give Syp Vermox 5ml twice a day for three days, Syp Ferosoft 3ml twice a day for 2 - 3 months (given empty stomach i.e after one hours of meals)
