The best strategy is to consult psychiatrist first to assesss the basic cause of illnesss or complaints. Psychiatrist will decide to treat such patients by medications only or medications with psychotherapy or psychotherapy only. The psychiatrist knows better to refer such patient to clinical psychologist for psychotherapy or tackle by himself if trained for it.
