Talk to Psychiatry on Anxiety Issue
Asking for Self, Female, 31 years old, Karachi
I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder and health anxiety some time ago. I was given citanew but it didn’t suit me. I was then given brintillex 10mg 3-4 weeks ago. It helped with controlling racing thoughts, increased my appetite and energy levels were better however anxiety is the same. Like last week I got a really bad anxiety attack. I spoke to my psychiatrist she said it’s too early and there will be ups and downs. But I am getting fed up of this anxiety. After every half an hour I feel nervous ticks since 3-4 days. When will I start feeling normal.. loosing hope. I have a feeling the medicine isn’t working on my anxiety as such.

aoa.usually these medicines take 2 to 4 weeks to show their full effects. with the passage of time you may feel improvement or your diagnosis may be revised or management rescheduled. you should strictly follow the instructions of yout treating psychiatrist. I think we need to reconsider the choice of brintillex for anxiety. You need to discuss the change of medicine with your psychiatrist.
