Hi, The patient is my close friend. The patient has been suffering from Bipolar Disorder Type II at age 28 (male), and he is taking his treatment since age 18. Besides suffering from depression and hypomania symptoms, the two most important issues are bothering: 1. Weight Gain every time he restarts his treatment (he stops his treatment gradually many times due to weight concerns). Currently overweight but recovered from obesity. 2. Extreme Hypersexual Desires which are not controlled with any medicine.
My question: Is there any medicine that can control heightened sexual desires without causing weight gain?
all med of anxiety depression have steroids that cause weight gain , try to cope this situation with healthy lifestyle habits and healthy diet chart

This is a good case discussion.I wonder what medication is he on and for how long.Sexual hyperarousal need to be monitored and is it part of his risky behaviour and any issue with behaviour in his personal,social or occupational life.
yes there are alternative medications and also add on medicines that can control the issues which are bothering the pt, need complete history of illness and treatments for optimal management plan.
medicines do have side effects.
