Asking For Self, Male 40, Jhelum
my sister is a biploar patient she was taking aripiprazole 10mg and zoloft 100mg was feeling well but little bit manic but her liver enzymes got doctor advised her to stop medicines. Can anyone tell me is it possible to take aripiprazole for her bipolar as maintenance treatment. could it manage both mania and major depression,Ocd also. Zoloft also triggered her little bit mania while taking like hypo type. Is it ok to take Aripiprazole for major depression, ocd and mania. can it cover all her three issues
agar patient mania ki taraf ja Raha ha tou Zoloft stop Karna chayh but better to consult psychiatrist to observe patient current condition and revised treatment accordingly
better to consult your treating psychiatrist, it depends upon the severity of her symptoms, aripiprazole alone may not be sufficient given her other symptoms too. needs review for medications
without full assessment, cannot comment.
needs specialist monitoring and management.
I think aripip cannot cover all these three issues you should consult a psychiatrist to settle these issues
switch to syp.risperidone , it can cure all
Consult a Psychiatrist who may adjust the dose of Aripiprazole or the addition of another medicine to augment the effect. Zoloft 100 mg is high dose for Bipolar Patients. It may trigger Mania and 10 mg Aripiprazole is not sufficient enough to manage the elated mood/manic symptoms triggered by Zoloft 100 mg. Consult a Psychiatrist for proper management.
yes but patient must be evaluated before any such decisions
