Asking For Self, Male 25, Bwp

Dear Doctors,

I recently consulted a local doctor who, while finding me physically well, expressed concern about my mental well-being. I've been experiencing symptoms such as:

-A lack of motivation and drive -Difficulty getting out of bed and engaging in daily activities -Negative impact on my studies

To address these concerns, the doctor prescribed : -Zylexx 75 mg once daily at day ( 1 month) -Alp 0.5 mg once daily at night (10 days)

While I appreciate the doctor's guidance, I would like to seek a second opinion from a psychiatrist or psychologist before starting this medication. My primary concern is to ensure the appropriateness and effectiveness of this treatment plan for my specific circumstances.

I would be grateful if you could offer your expert advice.

Member of Marham-Forum

for seeking second opinion, you again need to visit a pshyciatrist.
it needs derailed history and examination,
this is for your betterment
thanks

Asalamu Alaikum wa Rehmatullahi wa Barakatuhu .
You have given a precise summary of your mental /physical health situation and concerns.
You did the right thing to consult your primary care doctor who has started you on anti depressant and anti anxiety medication. The concerns that you have expressed are suggestive of Depression. However, as you also feel, there is a need to get expert opinion and treatment from a Psychiatrist ASAP. You may take appointment from a Psychiatrist of your choice ASAP and start the process. The time to do it is 'Now". Your condition may cause further delay in seeking treatment.
The process includes, a detailed, recant history, mental state examination, diagnosi; treatment plan I.e. medication, psychotherapy, and regular follow ups until needed.
Looking forward to a completely healthy, you, soon on this Marham community. You are brave to seek professional help and support, while taking responsibility for your health. Best Regards.

Ma'am!Thank you for your thoughtful answer. While I appreciate the suggested course of action, I'm seeking your final confirmation on the prescribed medication before starting. I am dealing with societal sensitivities surrounding mental health, and your confidence in this treatment would be invaluable. If my situation will not improve in a month I will definitely see a psychiatrist. Marham's platform has truly empowered me, and I'm ready to take this step towards recovery.

Please start taking the medications as advised. Psychiatric Medicines are slightly different from other medicines, in as much, that the are given in low doses in the beginning, and increased slowly. It may take a few days or weeks to get the desired results. However, you will find that most of the problematic symptoms will be decreased in intensity, and some will go away, in a few days.
All medicines have side effects، which may be unpleasant but are not harmful. The body and the medicines get used to each other, and then the going gets smooth. In Shaa Allah you will feel improvement ? soon. In the nearside, please, do breathing meditation/relaxation. 1. Sit quietly, take a deep breath in through your nose, Jordan, and breathe out through your mouth. try and focus your attention on your breath coming in and going out.
Do 5 to 10 times at a time. Do it when you lie down to sleep.
Do it until you master it.
Try and study, taking breaks.
If you have any queries and concerns, please feel comfortable, in contacting us at Marham. All the doctors and Matham are here to help and support you.
there are many apps on Nintendo and Yt for breathing relaxation.
May Allah Bless you with complete health and speedy recovery. Aameen. Looking forwards to meeting you in session, soon. Think positive. You are Great. You are Brave. Regards.

You should also have psychotherapy. Mental health problems are needed to be treated with medication and psychotherapy. As you can not go with either one of them both are important for you.

Thank you Sir for your thoughtful response. Regarding your mention of psychotherapy, would you be able to offer some initial tips or ways to help me overcome this mental lethargy and move forward?"
