welcome, see schizophrenia is a psychotic disorder which require medications for long term and is patient is not willing for taking medicine even getting better it means that patient's symptoms has not fully recovered yet means insight into the disease or patient after getting better has become frustrated that may be the reason he is not willing to take medicine on the other hand side effects of the medicine can be the reason and if patient is talking irrelevantly it clearly shows that patient has still psychotic symptoms, so it is better to take the patient to his treating psychiatrist to adjust the dose and tell the doctor about all the symptoms and when patient should be informed about the disease that would be discussed with his treating psychiatrist, at this time patient should be supported to take medicine regularly and to visit a doctor regularly. there are two types of improvement in patient. 1. good symptoms control and 2. back to normal functional life as patient was before illness, so both recoveries varies from patient to patient due to disease factors. Thanks
