problems like high cholestetol n diabetes are usually genetic . they are affected to a small extent only by sleep. . . . . in your husbands case irregular schedule is probably the most important cause for sleep disturbance . . . . it happens in such cases where there is shift based job. sleep hygiene is very important . bed should b neat n clean , avoid light n noise . dont go to bed before its the exact time at which u want to sleep. avoid using cell phone , video games n tv upto 2 hours before going to bed. use milk more often n avoid coffee, tea n smoking as much as possible . . . . . if above mentioned measures r not successful u may consult a psychiatrist (in person or online) for a prescription of melatonin. its a natural remedy for sleep with little sde effects n it doesn't cause addiction
