Asking for Self, Male, 24 years old, Sargodha
I have problem of insomnia from last 4-5 months. Sometimes it gets better and sometimes worse. Main issue is staying asleep. I wake up around 2-3am, and afterward I cant sleep if I do, its shallow sleep.
I visited Psychiatrist here. He recommended amitriptyline with velium. I am on it from 5 days and having there sever side effects: (btw I am taking amitriptyline 25mg and half valium at night) -> Extreme thurst (I am drinking a glass of water every single hour or less) -> Not exactly constipation, but very less bowel movement (1 time in 2.5 days) -> Dark and smelly Urine and very less as compared how much I am drinking -> I also noticed decline in libido -> And hungover is also very bad, I dont feel sober until later half of the day
Please guide, do I need to visit my doctor again for this? And just for refrence 3 months back I was on Peroxitine and mirtzapine, and I had none of this issue.
looks your insomnia may b related to underlying depression , amitriptyline and valium are poor choice if Mirtazapine helped u, my advice ,go back on Mirtazapine
yes do visit your psychiatrist and also consult psychologist for psychotherapy

so why highlight insomnia as main issue ! anyway it appears u got anxiety for which Mirtazapine is fine but if nocturia is contained on amitriptyline u should remain on it after seeing another nephrologist for second opinion. your case is bit complex so consult qualified Psychiatrist and ensure u visit him on quarterly basis even if well .

never ask online how long medication will be needed because without all the relevant details ,this question can not be answered even in mild cases Allah Hafiz
