Talk to Psychiatry on Xanax Or Alp
Asking For Self, Male 42, Karachi
AoA docs, (Neuros, Psychologists, psychiatrists)..
Can I or anyone take Xanax, Alp, Seroxat CR or Rivotril or any other anti depressant on their own just once or twice without any prescription due to headaches with mild or moderate anxiety, stress symptoms ?
woa. no these medications should be taken after advice of a psychiatrist on regular basis. their self medication can lead to addiction and worsening of symptoms.

Walaikum Salam. Medications should never be taken without a Doctor's advice prescription. A wrong treatment can further complicate symptoms. Please avoid it

Thanks doc for your advise. but unfortunately last night I had taken Xanax 0.5 mg as since last 3 nights or more I could not sleep well. Xanax tau conditionally le sakte hain. i used after very long time. could not bear it more.

I understand that you are going through a difficult medications like Xanax and Alp are addictive and have side effects. and should not be used without supervision and prescription of a Doctor. Please speak to a Psychiatrist for detailed assessment. There are many Psychiatrists who are offering online consultations due to the COVID Pandemic.

That's a good question and importantly should be answered as it's a common query by most of the patients...
As doses of psychiatric medications are adjusted according to severity and choice of the patient therefore monitoring and supervision by psychiatric Followups is extremely important.

a) xanax, alp, rivotril are NOT antidepressants. they are anti anxiety. and VERY DANGEROUS drugs as they cause addiction very soon.
unfortunately, in Pakistan everyone can get all kinds of medicines without prescription and cities and towns are full of quacks dispensing treatment without proper training
