Asking for Self, Female, 34 years old, Karachi

I am suffering with depression since my teen age . at the same time i have an other issue which is ,i feel so much sexual desire since teen age but i couldnt fullfill that due to family reason . my this desire have reached to the most peak level from last few months also my depression have increased with that . I am losing my weight as well , i am less than 36 kg now . please guide me how should i have better health ?

You need to lessen sweet things so your sexual desires may lower. Additionally you need to increase your physical activity. Start going to gym, take up swimming and keep yourself busy with socialisation or anything that involves you helping others. The physical activity will help boost your esteem and get you out of depression. Next Shifting your focus from yourself to others by helping others. Hope these few suggestions help

I have started an out going activity , yes i felt better from that alhamdolillah . but due to my physical health i am not able to do everything that makes me happy , like i want to do masters but it will take lots of energy . and i am not energetic person right now . from my teen age I cant eat well . I lack apitite from my teen age .

Your assessment screenshot is showing your depression but the cause of it is unknown. Weight loss and depression are both signs but to get to the root cause an assessment is required. Perhaps the family reason you wrote about is much more deeper... yes? Anyway, please do what I have suggested and then revert back with how you are feeling.

Yes Dr Tahira family reason is much more deeper , I have been with abusive family memebers , I have faced abusive behaviours of my elder sisters and mother , they damaged me alot . may Allah give me strength to forgive them . the actual reason of depression could be my family's abuse . but its been more then 10 years that i am going through it , now i want to rid off .tell me is this site is enough for me or i should go to psyciatrist ?

Therapy Session are not free. Maham portal is just for you to see the options about whom you can contact for therapy. The forum is good way to gauge how professionals respond and what kind of solution there may be for you out there.

Basically you will need to book an appointment for a doctor/specialist via this platform and then see what the procedure is. It is a costly treatment like with any other doctor or specialist.

Now about your family reason; Its my understanding from what I have read so far that once this reason is out in the open in front of your chosen therapist, you can and you will be able to deal with it properly.

Brain is a complex thing. And emotions are even more confusing, but to straighten them out and to help you understand what is causing which issue, sessions are a must. And one session of 60 minutes will not be enough. Maybe you will require two sessions in a week and maybe for 1 whole month or more... its hard to say about it at this point. But I can say for surety that you need to speak about the family reason with a trained professional in front of you.

You also need to understand the basic and fundamental difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist. I am a psychologist; I am not a medical doctor/MD and I am not authorised to prescribe medicines. Meanwhile, a psychiatrist is a medical doctor/MD and s/he is authorised to prescribe medicine. You may think why people then prefer a psychologist? Then the answer is that a psychologist is only trained from the start to the end to deal with problems and issues related to psychology of humans. My Dr status is actually a PhD doctorate not an MD.

In your second reply you mentioned that your health is not good. I only know of Yoga (not aerobics) and proper Yoga that has the capability of strengthening nerves. I have done it and I have benefited a lot from it. So, start Yoga... it should bring about some positive changes like giving you your hunger back. Yoga will improve your sleep and give you healthy sleep. It will strengthen your nervous system and give you healthy energy. Once you have done yoga for 1-2 weeks, then begin gym or anything else further.
