Ive ALWAYS had an obsession with sleeping. Before marriage i would typically sleep for 12 hours straight at times. I cant control it. After wedding i take sleep like before. And im starting to think theres something abnormal. I cannot function properly if i dont get atleast 9 hours. I typically sleep longer on weekends.
Pleasee guide me on what could be wrong with me. I feel like i miss out on life because of this. Everyone around me seems to be fresh in 6-7 hours or even less.

The sleeping pattern are highly individualised. One can get longer sleep to be fresh than other. It’s quite normal. And if you r fully fresh after sleep then you can be productive in day and reach ur potential,,, obsessions must be dysfunctional to ur social and personal life so if you think it’s harming these aspects you can book ur appointment and we can do detailed psychological report on that.

I could help you get your correct sleep patterns. there are ways to adjust your sleep. may be some medical or psychological issues stimulate sleep patterns. Not for every individual, 7 hours sleep rule is present.

First check out ur hormones and other levels in body
Assalam o Alaikum, it seems you enjoy sleeping but at the same time due to sleeping much you miss some important things. It happens , and it's normal until it is not stressful to you. But it's good if you improve your sleep cycle to enjoy life more. Take few steps.. 1. First of all set a sleep time for atleast 6-8 hours. 2. Stop using phone or watching tv etc before 1 hour going to bed. 3. While going to bed, relax your self and take deep breaths, and give you brain a message that when I will wake I will be more active and energetic and full of life. If works then great ofherwise you can take a session and discuss in detail about your sleep cycle.
And it is also important to rule out any medical condition as well. Because most of the time our sleep pattern is disturbed due to some underline medical problem such as hormonal imbalance or some deficinecy.
certain factors contribute towards hypersomnia.. that can be figured out in proper session..
Actually due to long time sleep yourself lazy because a human will be lazy due to long time sleep. You should start to reduce your sleeping time gradually not instantly.
