First we need to bring down the level of Gross Anxiety through insight talk therapy and counseling. Then we will have to work on social interactions to alleviate problem that arise when you meet someone new

it seems from what you report that it might be social anxiety. and as you said it is from childhood then there might be some childhood experiences causing it.
