we access first lung or lobe (to be removed)on few parameters ( investigation) and on radiological assessment( fresh ct scan ) then we decide weather we can offer lung resection or not ..
we do access active tuberculosis or infection status .. as the cause may keep destrying more and more segments ..
pneumonectomy ( complete one lung resection is v high risk procedure for life) as patint have to live on remaining one lung
lobectomy ( that is half lung resection may compensate later in life and with time pt have normal life )
medical option is bronchial.artery embolization for stopping or reduce blood in sputum .. but for limited period of time and wont help in stopping spread of infection to remaining lung
