Asking For Self, Male 23, Lahore

AOA. I was diagnosed with pulmonary TB (mild infection) based on HRCT chest & T.Spot Blood Test. I have completed my 6 month ATT on Dec 25, 2020. After that I did AFB smear Sputum Test from Shaukat Khanum Lab. It was negative. I repeated that test again on Jan 27, 2021. It came negative again. Now I want to do a blood test to confirm that there's no more TB Bacteria in my body. One doctor said, no need for blood test. Another said, do the IGRA (Quantiferon TB Gold plus test).

Now please let me know which blood test should I do? I'm having OCD due to TB. IGRA or T.Spot? (I need the most accurate test)

If you don’t have any symptoms, no need of any further testing.

Symptoms are all gone. But I've developed OCD somehow. So can't IGRA or T-Spot be done to confirm no more TB bacteria? Are they not accurate?
(No money issues. I can afford them)

Microbiological tests are the most sensitive test to diagnose and to monitor disease. You dont need any other test if symptoms and chest xray has improved.

Chest Xray are fine.
I wanted to do Bronchial Washing instead of Sputum as my sample for the Test. Because one doctor told me that sometimes Sputum test doesn't give proper result. That caused me OCD.
Can't T-Spot or IGRA be used as a confirmatory test?

T-Spot and IGRAS will be positive in your case. This doesnt mean that you still ve the disease.

OK. Thank you.

One last question.
Will they be positive forever or for a few months so I could do one of those tests later?

"TB Gold Plus" is the same as "IGRA for TB". Right?

dear patient no need for further testing and no blood test is recommended for tb. you need behavioural/psychology reassurance rather than testing. so spend your money on that rather than running behind any further test.
