Asking for Mother, Female, 59 years old, Lahore

Hello Doctors, Please tag Rheumatologist or Pulmonologist. My mother was diagnosed with Sjögren’s syndrome in July 2019 in which lungs were involved. (Early ILD diagnosed) Her treatment went for 2 years with Dr Saqib Saeed. She was taking Delta cortril (steriods) (2+0+0) and Cell Cept (immuno suppressant) (1+0+1). From last one month, she was doing fine so doctor stopped her medications. Its been one month now since the medications have stopped l, but she has severe bodyaches overall. Is there any testing required? Her breathing and lungs pain are fine as well alhumdulillah. Is there any possibility that her auto immnue has attacked at any other body part? What is this body ache for? Please advice. Thank you.

Hi. The muscle aches can be due to Sjogrens or due to steroid withdrawal. other consideration is whether she has developed Fibromyalgia. suggest getting further up to date assessment with Rheumatologist.

Assalam o Alaikum. Muscle pains could be a consequence of increased activity of her disease but it’s not necessary. So you should get her CBC, ESR, Albumin and CRP levels and consult with your doctor/rheumatologist. These tests along with a good history and examination by your doctor will aid in finding the root of the issue. Best wishes for your mother. Feel free to ask if there’s any other questions. Thank you.

I think based on what you are saying your mother should see her previous doctor who treated her with sterlids and cellcept.
I think she needs a proper clinical assessment which is not possible on this forum.
