Walikum Assalam,

Thank you for reaching out. It’s important to understand that every child develops at their own pace, but since your son is almost 3 years old and has not started speaking yet, I would recommend consulting a speech-language therapist for a proper evaluation. Early intervention is key, and a therapist can guide you on exercises and techniques to support his language development.

Without history we can't give any diagnoses and we can't give you any advice, so you should get detailed assessments of your child from the therapist and get him speech sessions, thanks.

W.salam, you should consult speech therapist asap to not waste his prime time of improvement and get speech therapy. For home you should encourage him to speak instead of understanding his pointing or gestures rather ask him to speak. You can even tell him the names of objects and then ask him to repeat so that he pick the words, develop vocabulary and then speak.
