Punjab’s interim government announced early winter vacations for educational institutions. The early winter vacations were announced in the perspective of toxic, hazardous, and thick fog enveloping major cities in Punjab, causing students to fall ill.
As the situation of fog and smog intensifies Moshin Naqvi Caretaker of Punjab announced winter holidays, a week early. Many unverified reports on social media claim that there will be an extension in winter vacations for one week due to high pollution levels and cold weather.
Regardless of these widespread rumors, the government of Punjab has not officially announced any extension in the reopening of schools and educational institutions. Therefore, parents are advised to depend on the information from the School Education Department. But as of now, schools are expected to resume in January 2024.
It is important to highlight that currently no official announcement has been made regarding the extension of winter vacations in Punjab 2023.
