As per the three new reports, the COVID19 immunity can last a lot longer than it was expected at first. The research says, the COVID19 immunity can last for months or maybe even longer than that. According to the new research, mostly people who have recovered from COVID19 infection can be protected for at least a good period of time. Whereas the vaccines, they are said to only protect people for weeks only.
One of these three studies say, that those people who have recovered from the COVID19 virus produce the antibodies that protect against infection and last for at least five to seven months.
“We have one person that is seven months out. We have a handful of people that are five to seven months out,” Deepta Bhattacharya, an immunobiologist at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, told CNN.
He further mentions that neutralising antibodies are stably produced for at least 5-7 months after SARS-CoV-2 infection. His team has been working with the officials in Arizona to test all the from April 30, ever since they developed a blood test for coronavirus.

They explain that a human body has the B cells that create antibodies which later matures into plasma cells.
“Generally, you get a ton of short-lived plasma cells. They make a ton of antibodies. The best cells compete with each other. Only those go on to become long-lived cells. Those form later in the response” he said.
This study shows us that if a vaccine is properly designed, it does carry a potential to induce a durable antibody response that can help protect the vaccinated person against the virus that causes COVID-19.
