The federal government has announced 4 days of Eid holidays 2024, starting from April 10, 2024.
According to the official Eid holidays notifications 2024 on Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved holidays from April 10, 2024, (Wednesday) to April 13, 2024 (Saturday).
The Eid holidays 2024 notification Pakistan stated that all government and semi-government offices will remain closed during these Eid holidays.
The Met Office on Monday predicted that the Eid ul Fitr will fall on April 10, 2024, as the Shawwal moon is expected to be sighted on April 9, 2024.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) stated the moon will be born on April 8, 2024, at 11:21 pm and it will be aged between 19 and 20 hours the next day around the Maghrib prayer.
They added that the crescent can be seen for over 50 minutes around the sunset.
The PMD said the sky will be clear on April 9, 2024, in most parts of the country. However, the sky may be cloudy in Northern areas of the country.
The moon for Ramadan was sighted on March 11, 2024, in Pakistan and the first day of Ramadan was observed the next day. Therefore, Pakistanis will mark 29 days of fasting, if the forecast of PMD turns out to be true.

Eid ul Fitr is celebrated by Muslims across the world after the holy month of Ramadan and Shawwal begins. Shawwal moon sighting 2024 in Pakistan is performed on the 29 or 30th of Ramadan.
