The Punjab Health Department has issued SOPs to save valuable lives after the wave of Pneumonia cases among the children in Punjab.
Health Minister of Punjab Dr Jamal Nasir stated on Thursday that the health department has been put on high alert following the Pneumonia cases as cold weather seizes Punjab.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, for the first time in the history of Punjab, data on Pneumonia is being collected. The data collection is performed to have a clear picture of pneumonia in Punjab.
Dr Jamal Nasir, Punjab Health Minister disclosed that there are 3 patients in one bed in the hospitals due to pneumonia. However, it is also a good thing for the hospital that no patient is sent back and every patient is receiving the treatment.
He added that all kinds of treatments are available at the hospitals. However, parents are requested to vaccinate their children against pneumonia and also take precautionary measures against colds.
An Advisory Committee is established regarding taking preventive measures to save elderly citizens and children from Pneumonia. The committee will submit its recommendations after reviewing the cases.
