Lahore, May 25, 2021: Pakistan is just another victim of COVID19 since we can’t say, forever?. It feels like COVID19 has been here all along as we don’t even remember how it used to be pre-covid. Life has become difficult and insecure as we see every other person as a COVID 19 carrier.
Very recently, Pakistan has started vaccinating people from different age groups. Starting from the elderly, currently, people in the ’30s are getting their vaccination done. Despite receiving sufficient vaccine doses from other countries, this dependency was risky as we were unsure whether that’s all we’ll be getting or they will continue to provide us with the vaccines.
However, no need to worry about that anymore as, in its fight against the novel coronavirus, Pakistan on Monday announced a major achievement. It was announced that Pakistan has developed a homemade vaccine called “PakVac”. The vaccine has been formulated with the help of China’s Cansino Bio Inc. after rigorous quality control checks.
This step is expected to be significantly effective in reducing Pakistan’s dependence on other countries for the Covid-19 vaccine. To date, over 5 million Pakistanis have been able to receive COVID-19 vaccination in this country.
Dr Faisal Sultan, the Prime Minister’s special assistant on NIH took the opportunity to announce this achievement through Twitter on Monday.
Congratulations to the NIH Pak team and its leadership for successful fill/finish (from concentrate) of the Cansino vaccine with the help of Cansino Bio Inc. China. The product has passed the rigorous internal QA testing. An imp step to help in our vaccine supply line

Along with congratulating the NIS team, he mentioned that this will step up the country’s vaccine supply. Also, he mentioned about PAkVac passing all the rigorous internal quality control checks and testing before hitting the markets.
According to one of the NIH official, the vaccine’s raw material was received in Pakistan at the beginning of May 2021 and the production process of this vaccine was immediately started.
