Educational institutions and public offices in Lahore will remain closed on April 23, 2024 (Tuesday).
The Punjab government has announced a public holiday in Lahore district on April 23, 2024 (Tuesday). The public holiday in Punjab is announced to avoid inconvenience to the public due to the visit of foreign dignitaries, including Iranian President Dr Ebrahim Raisi.
The Iranian President, Dr. Ebrahim Raisi, is currently on an official trip to Pakistan from April 22, 2024, to April 24, 2024 (Wednesday).
The Foreign Office said that he would visit Lahore and Karachi and meet the provincial leadership.
A notification from the Punjab government was also issued on Monday which said that April 23, 2024, was declared a local holiday for Lahore District. This is announced on considering the scheduled visit of the foreign officials and to avoid the consequent inconvenience to the general public.
It also said that, “This holiday will be observed only in the Lahore district and its subordinate offices,” adding that the holiday would not apply to the Punjab Civil Secretariat, its attached departments and regional offices.
