Pakistanis are expected to have six Eidul Fitr Holidays in 2024, which might fall on April 10, 2024, sources within the metrological department stated.
In 2019, the Federal Minister of Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhary, introduced the Lunar Calendar to address the problems related to the moon sighting.
According to the Lunar Calendar, the Holy month of Ramadan will be completed in 29 days. If there will be 29 days of Ramadan, then Eidul Fitr will be celebrated on April 10, 2024 across Pakistan.
As per the PMD, the Shawwal moon might be sighted on the evening of Ramadan 29 (April 9, 2024).
Generally, Eid Holidays are commenced a day before the expected Eid date for the preparations of the festivity.
So, if the government announces a four-day Eid holiday starting from April 9, 2024 (Tuesday) till April 12, 2024 (Friday), then there will be 6 Eid Holidays because Saturday and Sunday are observed as public holidays in public and private schools and offices.
However, the final announcement will be made by the government after a discussion with PMD and other associated departments.
If you need any medical assistance or want to consult any doctor during the Eid Holidays, then you can talk to any doctor via video consultations in Pakistan through Marham.pk.
