A fluid that keeps the vagina infection-free and clean is completely normal and natural. But its texture, color, and amount can vary, depending on the age and menstrual cycle.
Some color, smell, and texture changes can indicate any underlying health condition such as yeast infection.
We have interviewed and gathered some valuable information from the gynecologist Dr. Shysta Shaukat, a consultant gynecologist and obstetrician.
From causes to age groups and tips, here are the insights on vaginal discharge and Leukorrhea treatment (Leukorrhea ka ilaj in Urdu).
Vaginal Discharge – What’s Normal?
Normal vaginal discharge consists of bacteria and a liquid. The liquid (Mucus) keeps the vagina clean and healthy. There are both good and bad bacteria present in the mucus. The good bacteria in vaginal discharge maintain everything in balance and healthy.
On the other hand, some amount of yeast is also present in the mucus. The good bacteria keep yeast from growing too out of control. When the yeast or bad bacteria grow too much, you have an infection.
Some signs of normal vaginal discharge in females:
- It is white, clear, thin, or slightly yellow in color
- It has no bad smell or odor
- It doesn’t cause irritation or itchiness
- It often increases 2 weeks before menstruation
- It may change/increase with birth control methods
Vaginal Discharge Meaning in Urdu is اندام نہانی سے خارج ہونے والا مادہ which means the liquid that discharges from the vagina.

Many females get sexually transmitted infections (STIs) from their partners. For example: Gonorrhea or Chlamydia are the STIs that occur due to sexual intercourse and affect the cervix. They can result in the release of greenish-yellow vaginal discharge with irritation and abnormal bleeding in females.
